History

 

Bakery Dufeu was founded in 1988 in Lac-Mégantic. Since its foundation, a delivery system was established to distribute the production in health food stores in Quebec and from 1997 to 2001 in the United States.

Pioneers of Quebec in the field of organic bakery products, Mr  Dufeu brought from France an expertise and experience of traditions handed down from generations.

At first, production essentially consisted of sourdough bread, various pies (millet and seitan) and quiches. Since 1997, we opened a store in downtown Sherbrooke at 17 Bowen Nord. In addition to making our now famous sourdough bread, we offer our customers a variety of yeast breads, croissants and various pastries (apple or date turnovers, muffins, chocolate croissants, amandines, brownies, etc…) – (see in the product section).

Mr Dufeu is still the owner and production manager. His interest for organic  products has always been closely linked to his efforts to promote healthy, complete and natural nutrition.

But the experience and expertise of Mr Dufeu as authentic bread making artisan dates back to 1969.

After a complete training in artisanal bread making, from 1969 to 1972, he used his experience in several regions of France, Europe, Middle East and Canada (since 1986). His passion for bread is still very much alive along his interest to offer you high quality products that, aside from protecting and preserving your health, have unique tastes and textures and traditional aromas.
